Services

  • In Home visit or Office Visit

“Deep Dive" into your baby’s feeding and function. Whether you are struggling with a painful latch, bottle refusal, or concerns about oral restrictions, we look at the whole picture.

    Whats Included:

    • Full Feeding Observation: A non-judgmental look at a full feed (breast or bottle) to assess mechanics and comfort.

    • Weight Check & Transfer: Using a medical-grade scale to see exactly how much baby is taking in.

    • Comprehensive Assessment: A look at baby's oral motor function, body tension, and developmental milestones.

    • Education & Counseling: Real-time coaching to improve positioning and technique.

    • Referral Network: If your baby needs a pediatric dentist, bodyworker, or specialist, we provide trusted local referrals.

  • Professional, expert support from the comfort of your own nursery—no matter where you are located. Virtual visits are an incredibly effective way to troubleshoot feeding mechanics, discuss developmental concerns, and build your confidence in a low-stress environment.

    What’s Included:

    • Virtual Feeding Assessment: Guided observation of a feeding session where we assess baby’s latch, suck-swallow-breathe coordination, and positioning.

    • Oral Motor & Body Screening: I will guide you through simple movements to help me assess your baby’s range of motion and tension patterns.

    • Targeted Education: Real-time counseling on feeding techniques, bottle pacing, or developmental play.

    • Referrals & Resources: Digital access to my vetted network of specialists and supplemental educational videos.

  • When a "clog" or inflammation turns into painful mastitis, standard advice like "massage harder" can actually make things worse. We use clinical, therapeutic ultrasound to provide a gentle, non-invasive way to reduce inflammation and speed up your recovery.

    What is Therapeutic Ultrasound?

Therapeutic ultrasound is a specialized tool that uses high-frequency sound waves to create "micro-vibrations" deep within the breast tissue. Unlike the diagnostic ultrasound used to see your baby during pregnancy, this version is designed to move fluid and reduce swelling at a cellular level.

  • *Insurance does not cover

Does your baby seem "tight" or always arched? Do they struggle to relax into your arms or have difficulty with a deep, comfortable latch? Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy that releases tension deep in the body to improve whole-body function and comfort.

How Does CST Help My Baby?

The "Craniosacral system" includes the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a touch no heavier than the weight of a nickel, we identify areas of restriction and help the body release them.

    Common reasons parents seek CST:

    • Birth Trauma/Tension: Helping babies "unwind" after a long labor, vacuum/forceps delivery, or C-section.

    • Feeding Challenges: Releasing tension in the jaw, neck, and tongue that may be preventing a deep, pain-free latch.

    • Torticollis & Favoring One Side: Gently addressing the structural tightness that causes a baby to always look in one direction.

    • Pre & Post Frenectomy (Tongue Tie) Support: Preparing the tissue for a procedure and helping the body integrate the new range of motion afterward.

    • Digestive Comfort: Supporting the nervous system to help with "colic," reflux, and general fussiness.

  • Feeding is the most complex task a child’s body has to perform. It requires the coordination of 26 muscles and 6 cranial nerves, all while processing the smells, textures, and tastes of new foods. If your child is struggling, it’s rarely "just picky eating"—it’s often a matter of skill and sensory comfort.

    Who we help

Our Pediatric OT feeding services are designed for older infants (6+ months), toddlers, and young children who experience:

    • Difficulties with Solids: Gagging, choking, or a fearful reaction to texture changes (e.g., moving from purees to table foods).

    • Limited Food Range: Children who eat fewer than 20 foods or "burn out" on foods they once loved.

    • Oral-Motor Delays: Weak chewing, pocketing food in the cheeks, or excessive messiness while eating.

    • Transition Struggles: Difficulty moving from a bottle to a straw or open cup.

    • Mealtime Stress: Battles at the table that leave both the parent and child feeling overwhelmed.

Insurance & Payment

Many families are eligible for lactation and feeding support at little to no out-of-pocket cost. Depending on your specific plan, your insurance may cover your appointments in full. We recommend verifying your benefits to see how your coverage applies to our services.

At Milk and Milestones (d/b/a Above and Beyond Therapy, LLC), we believe in transparency. We offer multiple pathways for payment:

Insurance reimbursement is ultimately subject to your specific plan's policies, and Above and Beyond Therapy, LLC cannot guarantee payment. To help you advocate for your benefits, we suggest utilizing the National Women’s Law Center’s toolkit, which offers a step-by-step guide for resolving lactation coverage questions.

1. Insurance (In-Network)*

We are proud to be in-network with:

  • [Insurance Provider 1, e.g., Aetna]

  • [Insurance Provider 2, e.g., Tricare Select]

  • The Lactation Network (TLN): We partner with TLN to provide "no-cost" lactation visits for many families. [Link to check your coverage]

Note: Coverage for Occupational Therapy (OT) varies by plan. We recommend calling your provider to confirm "Outpatient Pediatric OT" benefits. Service provider listed on EOB’s will be Above and Beyond Therapy, LLC.

2. Private Pay (Out-of-Network)*

If we are not in-network with your provider, you can pay "out-of-pocket" at the time of service. We accept:

  • All major credit cards

  • HSA and FSA cards (Often the best way to use pre-tax dollars for therapy!)

*Additional trip charge may be charged to “In-Home” visits of between $30-60 depending on length of trip. Trip charges are not reimbursed by insurance.
